Karinya takes its name from an Aboriginal word meaning peaceful and happy home. It’s a very beautiful and special resting place for children.

Beneath towering gums, flowerbeds curve and nestle around one another, creating gardens within gardens. A dry creek bed lined with pebbles winds through the centre, capped by a sweet, white wooden gazebo, perfect for reflection and taking in the tranquil scene.

Scattered throughout are friendly stone animals that capture the spirit of youth – rabbits, elephants, turtles. Letter blocks and hopscotch invite youngsters to do what comes naturally to small children – simply play. A tall giraffe keeps a watchful eye.

Karinya welcomes everyone who wishes to pay their respects. Feel free to bring a picnic to share on the lush lawn. We hope that you’ll find a sense of peace within its enchanted borders. A place where you can love, remember and fill your heart with precious memories of a treasured life.
