A funeral ceremony can be as elaborate, simple or as personalised as you choose.
After the funeral, it’s important to have a memorial where you can continue to remember your loved one for years to come - a peaceful place to visit, reflect and celebrate life.
With decades of experience, Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park understands the importance of providing beautiful memorial spaces that will be looked after for future generations.
Our team is here to listen, comfort and take care of all the memorial details when you are ready to proceed.
Not sure where to start? Here are three simple steps to help you plan a funeral and create a lasting tribute.
Choose a funeral director who you feel will meet your loved one’s wishes and reflect their personality and beliefs. They will organise the service or ceremony taking into account your needs and requests.
Book a service in one of our Chapels. All of our cremations take place within the cemetery grounds, so you can be assured that your loved one’s ashes are treated respectfully. Burials will take place at the chosen site on the day of the service.
.
We have extensive options available in both our beautiful gardens and purpose-built environments. Memorials provide a safe and supportive place for you to visit in the weeks, months and years following a passing.

The first thing we suggest is that you call someone to be with you, your partner, family member or friend as you will be feeling a great sense of shock and grief. If a loved one has passed away at home, ask them to call your family doctor. They’ll sign the death certificate, which is needed by law.
We’re here to help.
Please call us on 02 9661 5655 to discuss the way you would like to remember your loved one at Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park.

Depending on your wishes and if there are no concerns regarding sudden or accidental death, a funeral can happen within several days.
Quite simply, burial is when the casket is lowered into the ground. At Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park, we offer a choice of beautifully landscaped lawns where you can remember your loved one with a personalised plaque or headstone.
For cremations, ashes are created from both casket and the life to be remembered in our state of the art facilities. You can then memorialise your loved one in one of our many beautiful landscaped gardens.
There are many things to consider including highly individual ways to celebrate your loved one’s life. To make it easier to plan, here is a simple checklist for you to follow.
