A moving memorial to the Stolen Generations, remembering Aboriginal children who were taken away from their parents, and those parents who were laid to rest before their children returned home.
From his place in eternity we remember “Mr. Eternity” - a man inspired by something higher.
The location of the First Fleeters memorial is a place of history. A place of significance as the Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park overlooks Botany Bay.
The Memorial was officially opened by the Chief of Defence Force, Air Chief Marshal Mark Binskin, AC on the 29th July 2016. The date of the opening was significant to the centenary anniversary of the Battle of Pozieres.
The Local Police Memorial has been replicated at Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park (ESMP), for those officers killed on duty within the Botany, Maroubra, Waverly, and Rose Bay Local Area Commands.
John was very concerned about families of police servicemen and women who had lost their lives whilst on duty. He was instrumental in setting up the Police Memorial at the Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park.
